About Me: What Poet?

Greetings,

I believe an introduction is in order. I am Aussie Mik, a Gen Y woman (born '95) who lives a combination of the Digital Age and the old-fashioned ways of the 19th and 20 Centuries.
I reside on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. I have a large family; all kinds of weird, wacky and wonderful people. I am a privileged person to have gorgeous friends in my life. Most of all, I'm truly blessed to have been a Child of God since I was 4 years old.

This blog has been something that started forming in my head for some time. I choose not to use social media for personal reasons, but I would still like to share my voice and opinions with anyone who would like to hear them. And so, after suggesting it to a dear friend of mine who wants to share her experience with other breast cancer survivors, I decided that as a lover of the English language, I would share my writings with the Internet world.
Some people will say that posting my opinions on the Internet is hypocritical to my choice to be private. To that, I say, the level of privacy I choose is up to me and how much I choose to share in my posts will demonstrate that. In the end, I have always been someone who has cared little for the opinions others have of me. They aren't me, they don't know my context, and I can judge my performance for myself. That doesn't mean that I won't make my own observations about the actions of others. Take from my writings what you will.

I'm not sure how often I will have a chance to post, but I hope it is often enough to maintain interest. I am endeavouring to start tertiary study in the next few months, so hopefully I will still have opportunities to write.
On the note of posting, I warn that I am rather verbose. Somewhat ironic given as a child, I was quite reserved and shy. Now, I have more than enough to say. I feel that each sentence I include has meaning; it is crucial to the statement I am making.

As for the picture I use, I must give credit to YouTuber epicLLOYD. It is a still from his music video "Pawn" and as far as I can deduce, the woman is his lovely wife, Josie. Mrs Ahlquist has a blog also, which is a combination of personal stories and posts in relation to her dissertation.

All in all, I hope I can inspire people. I hope what I share provokes thinking, responses and new creations.

Talk soon,
Aussie Mik
